Ice Dam Storm Damage
This room was damaged by water seepage due to an ice dam. Ice dams are breaches that occur when the shingles are lifted and allow for water to gain access to the interior (heat/heated parts of the home) which in turn melts and seeps into the property. More often than not, the roof does not sustain any direct damages, and the shingle will reseal, however the interior takes the brunt of the damages. Dams typically are contained to corner or particular length of an exterior wall of the home due to the type of seepage but beyond that to prevent damages or exposure, or even worsening of conditions, it needs to be mitigated or dried out properly otherwise the issues can persist and worsen. Another issue that can present itself is getting the right steps of mitigation done because of the outside temperatures and general area environment, especially if it is the winter.
