Chimney Fire - Smoke and Soot Damamge
This home was damaged by a chimney fire, sustained within the chimney itself, causing smoke and soot damage to the loss location. As a result, the reconstruction actually sealed and did not replace the formal fireplace. This could have been a very difficult task in and of itself for the simple fact that the chimney typically has aged harder due to its exterior exposure and usage. Many times, with fire losses, it requires a lot of unseen or clearly visible work, especially with a chimney itself, because the exposure cannot be fully seen until it is taken apart or disposed of. As you can see in the photos the loss area had to be fully stripped and replaced in order to bring the loss back to its original appearance.
